About Us
Since 1996, Black Stone has been a leader in providing the elderly with companionship, housekeeping, and non-medical services in Southwest Ohio. Our 500+ nurses, therapists, and home care aides are people with a passion to make life easier for our clients. We serve our clients through nine offices in Cincinnati, Dayton, Springfield, Xenia, Piqua, Hamilton, Lebanon, Blanchester, and Batavia.
In March 2004, our credentials earned us the certification to add Medicare-reimbursed, skilled care to our suite of in-home services. The Home Care by Black Stone team responds quickly to answer the needs of physicians so patients receive expert, immediate care upon discharge from the hospital or nursing home or whenever home care is needed.

David Tramontana is Black Stone's CEO. In 1996, he and his partners founded the company to help Southwest Ohio's aging population. Serving as one of the area's most involved advocates for the elderly, David is on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Council for Home Care and is a member of the Montgomery County Council on Aging. Chris Doggett, RN, is Administrative Director of Clinical Services for Home Healthcare by Black Stone. Since 1984, Chris has been a Dayton home care provider, initially as a nurse providing care to the elderly, and then as a teacher and mentor to hundreds of nurses in the area, instructing them how to best serve the elderly in the home environment. Chris' tenure in the home care business is invaluable to Black Stone clients and their families. Chris received her M.S. in Nursing from Wright State University and her B.S. in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. Vickie Flatter, RN, is Director of Clinical Services for Home Healthcare by Black Stone/Dayton. With more than 20 years as a medical professional, Vickie brings to our staff a wide and varied background as a floor nurse, medical staff supervisor, and home care expert. For the past 18 years, Vickie has been delivering home care services in the Dayton area. As one of the pioneers in this industry, Vickie believes that seniors recuperating from illness or surgery thrive best in their home atmosphere and she avidly assists our clients in getting them the care they need to quickly recover. Vickie received her associate's degree in Applied Science in Nursing from Clark State University. Sharon Rachford, RN, is Director of Clinical Services for Home Healthcare by Black Stone/Cincinnati. With 23 years of medical experience, Sharon has a varied background which includes Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Hospice, Med/Surg and Endoscopy. Sharon has 15 years experience providing home care in Cincinnati, 5 years as a case manager and 10 years as Assistant Administrator of Clinical with MJ Nursing Registry. Sharon attended Jewish Hospital School of Nursing. Sharon believes that “there is no place like home” and that home care is the most cost effective option to provide medical care for the elderly and promotes quality of life. Micki Fehring, RN, is the Geriatric Care Manager for Care Advisors by Black Stone. With an associate's degree in nursing from Northern Kentucky University and a bachelor's degree in business from Miami University, Micki gravitated to home care, a field that allows her to utilize her educational background to address the health and well-being of seniors in a more holistic manner. Prior to joining the Black Stone Family, she was in home care for the Cincinnati Health Department, and also worked as an OB-GYN Clinic Manager and in the Surgical ICU at Christ Hospital. As a Care Manager, Micki provides a personalized care plan centered on the patient’s individual needs, whether that be caregiver support, advocacy, crisis intervention or care coordination.
Billie Agnone is is a Vice President of Private Duty Services provided by the Black Stone Family of Care Services in the Cincinnati area. Since 1996, Billie's compassion has been reflected in her career in home care. She joined Home Care by Black Stone in 1997 and her unwavering commitment to assist the frail elderly with choices in care continues each day, with each new client. She and her large staff work intimately with area agencies, the elderly, and their loved ones to make certain clients receive professional care with a personal touch. Billie is happy to assist with a wide range of services in the home environment including Assisted Care by Black Stone, MJ Nursing by Black Stone, and Care Advisors by Black Stone, all in the Cincinnati area. Michelle Dunigan is the Administrator at Assisted Care by Black Stone/Dayton. She originally began her career over twenty years ago with the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disability Services, the primary service provider for individuals with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities. Since joining Black Stone in 1998, she has made it her priority to serve seniors with great customer service and respect. Peggy Schmidt is the Director of Nursing at Home Healthcare by Black Stone/Dayton. She has been exclusively involved with home care since 1988. This passion for keeping seniors safe and happy in the environment of their choice has made Peggy a true advocate for the area's elderly. After working in a hospital and nursing home in the early part of her career, Peggy found her true calling when she joined the Area Council on Aging, where she was a PASSPORT case manager and quality assurance coordinator, helping her clients with services that allowed them to stay in their homes. Peggy holds a B.S. degree in Nursing from The Jewish Hospital of Nursing. Pam Shields is the Director of Nursing for Assisted Care by Black Stone/Cincinnati. With 37 years of home care in five different states under her belt, Pam favors home care over hospital nursing because the patient relationship develops so deeply. She holds a BSN from the University of Vermont. One of Pam’s primary duties is to make sure clients are happy with Black Stone services.
