Southwestern Ohio
Southwest Ohio Home Care Agency Is Honored for Both Caregiving and Professional Areas
Cincinnati, OH – March 8, 2010 – Home Care by Black Stone, a leading provider of in-home caregiving services, today announced it was recognized in two different categories with awards from the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio. On March 3rd, caregivers, professionals and an elected official who work to make life better for older adults were honored at the 39th annual meeting of Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio (COA).
David Tramontana, CEO of Home Care by Black Stone, received the Outstanding Professional in Aging Award, which honors a professional in the field of aging who has made significant and lasting contributions through one or more ways, such as leadership, teaching, research, writing, community outreach, care management, or advocacy.
Tramontana leads advocacy efforts to increase funding and provider reimbursement rates for PASSPORT, as well as Medicare home health rates on the federal level. He has devoted much time and effort to help the county Elderly Service Programs, from levy campaigns to serving on the Hamilton County ESP Advisory Council.
Nancy Tucker of Lynchburg, Clinton County received the Outstanding Caregiver Award. With this award, Council on Aging honors professional caregivers who provide superior service to older adults who would not be able to live independently without their help.
Nominated by her client Jayne, Nancy won for her service under Home Care by Black Stone. In her nomination, Jayne said, “Nancy made it easy. She was calm, friendly and professional enough to know exactly how to start. One thing she did right was not push me. Little by little, I became sure of Nancy and I felt cared for. I never lost my individuality and she gave me a feeling of well being. Nancy is an angel who knew just how to care for someone like me.”
Additionally, June Ferguson, another home health aide for Home Care by Black Stone was recognized as a finalist in the Outstanding Caregiver category.
